I like this kitchen as it has some very warm colors and some coolness to it. I don’t get the super large vase with the branches coming out of it. Do you? Nah you really don’t like it either. What I do however like are the lights over the island. Try checking out CHOKE CHOKE http://www.lightinguniverse.com/search/led-island-lighting.html  It is a Lowe’s company but we shouldn’t beat them up for that should we?light-love.jpg

News From Miele

miele-white-ovens-coffee-maker-warming-drawers.jpgHere you go Hipsters. Something new from Miele. White Glass fronts on ovens, combi ovens, coffee makers and even the warming drawers. As you can see they blend in very well and add a touch of cool to your kitchen. Be the first!!! One cautionary bit of info??

Yes, Big Hipstere speak!!! Make sure when you order your glossy white kitchen cabinet doors? Use the same RAL color that Miele has on their door or the cool factor will plummet!!!

wine-storage-the-hard-way1.jpgI am going to ask for a vote on this use of Liebherr wine storage?? I like the idea of having it handy, but I don’t like the bench below the units….Calling all Hipsters for a vote!!! Come on people this is important stuff here….use that “comment button” that God gave us!!! It is within reach you can do it!!!!

Less Brown 3

less-brown-3.jpgLastly something that has been getting traction in Europe. Taller wall units. I like them because the get out the squat and horizontal kitchen look that some designers use to death.

Less Brown 2

This was a pretty neat detail. The designer placed a long piece of the wood cabinet material in the counter top to break up the top. This can also be used as a place to put cool looking cooking items such as spices and stuff that we love to show our friendsless-brown-2.jpg.

Less Brown

Here is another kitchen with less brown than the last post. less-brown-1.jpgCompare and comment?

Brown To The Max

brown-to-the-max.jpgOK Hipsters, I do not do this often, but I am on a tear!!! A posting Mad Man!!  I don’t know how to describe this or why the designer of this kitchen thought to do it this way. It, as you can see, is just one giant blob of mottled brown.

Glass Top

black-glass-close-up.jpgThis is a close up of the island. They have used a glass counter top and 12″ inset hob burners that are made by Gaggenau. I like the way they break up the glass surface. In this way there is not one LARGE  36″ + burner making a huge statement on the top. Because the hobs are small, they give the illusion of more surface area, even though the same or even a larger burner area is being used.

Yes, I think the guy in the photo is checking himself out in the glossy tall unit. He brought his comb out after the shot.

A Formal Approach Close Up

wall-units-in-wood-gloss.jpgThis is a close up of the kitchen shown below. Note the glossy wood cabinet doors. The finish is flawless. Want to know why? Doors are tempered glass over a walnut finish! Cool huh?
